Hamburger Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.50 c onions .5 onion, chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 1.25 c sour cream full fat
  • 0.33 c white wine or water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried parsley or tablespoon fresh (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp butter divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 0.50 tsp ground black pepper


  • Melt 1 tablespoon butter in pan then add garlic and onion and salute until garlic is golden and onions are translucent.
  • Add the beef, season with salt and pepper, then cook until browned. Remove beef from pan and set aside.
  • Melt another tablespoon of butter to pan. Add mushrooms and wine/water and cook until liquid is reduced by about half and mushrooms are softened.
  • Remove pan from heat and mix in sour cream and paprika. Return pan to low heat.
  • Stir in lemon juice and and meat. Add more seasoning if needed.
  • Serve with noodles or rice.
